What this book is

eBay VeRO Intellectual-Property Takedown Defense: The Complete Seller Playbook is a 200-prompt, 20-category book for eBay sellers who want to prevent VeRO notices, respond calmly to the ones they receive, and protect their account afterward. It is a 202-page PDF and a private interactive workspace, the VeRO Defense Command Center, where you enter your listing details once and reuse them in every prompt.

It is written for the situation most sellers are really in: an honest listing, a brand word in the wrong place, and a notice that arrives without warning. The prompts help you think, check facts and write clearly. They do not decide your case for you.

Who it is built for

The book is for sellers who list branded, vintage, secondhand or compatible goods; for resellers who source from liquidation, wholesale or estate lots; for small teams who share listing duties; and for anyone who has had a listing removed at a rights owner's request and does not want it to happen again.

  • You received a notice and need a calm, ordered way to read it.
  • You list items with brand names and want to describe them accurately.
  • You want a repeatable pre-listing check instead of guessing.
  • You manage other people's listings and need shared rules.

What eBay publishes about VeRO

eBay's Intellectual property policy says sellers are responsible for making sure that the items they list are authentic and that the items and the listings do not infringe the intellectual property rights of others. Rights owners can report listings through the Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) program. eBay's Seller Center says a reported listing that is found to violate rights is removed and that the seller receives a notification explaining why, what aspect of the listing may have infringed, and how to revise it if possible.

eBay's Help pages also say that when a rights owner asks for a removal, eBay will remove the listing even if the item is genuine, and that you should not relist before finding out exactly why it was removed. This page paraphrases those statements as published by eBay, which may change; read the sources at the bottom of the page for the current wording.

What the VeRO Defense Command Center does

The workspace keeps your listing title, product category, brand name, rights owner name and other details in one place, then inserts them into whichever prompt you open. You review the personalized prompt, copy it to the AI tool you already use, and check the answer against your own listing and notice. The page Using the VeRO Defense Workspace With Your Listings explains the steps.

What the book does not do

It is an educational guide, not legal advice. It does not promise that a listing will be restored, that a notice will be withdrawn or that your account will be protected from future action. It does not help you hide infringing goods, sell counterfeits, avoid detection or file a false claim, and the prompts are written to push you away from those paths. If you are unsure whether a listing infringes someone's rights, eBay itself advises seeking legal advice.

How it connects to the guides on this site

Sellers whose main worry is their seller level rather than intellectual property may prefer the sibling book, eBay Seller Level & Performance Standards. See the whole shelf at eBay books or the eBay store, or buy this book.

Frequently asked questions

What is an eBay VeRO notice?

It is the message eBay sends when a rights owner reports one of your listings through the Verified Rights Owner program and the listing is removed. eBay says the notification explains why it was removed and what part of the listing may have infringed.

Can I relist an item after a VeRO removal?

eBay says you should not relist without first finding out exactly why the listing was removed, and that relisting can lead to suspension. If the removal was at a rights owner's request, eBay says to contact them before relisting. Check your notice and eBay's current wording.

Does the book give legal advice?

No. It is an educational guide. For questions about whether a listing infringes someone's rights, seek advice from a qualified professional.

Will the book get my listing or account restored?

No outcome is promised. The prompts help you check facts, write clearly and keep records. Decisions rest with eBay and the rights owner.

Is the book connected to eBay?

No. The Prompt Powerhouse is independent of eBay and is not affiliated with or endorsed by eBay.

What do I get when I buy it?

The 200-prompt interactive book with the private VeRO Defense Command Center, and the digital PDF. Prompt text is private to buyers and is not published on this site.
