Layer Two Membership: Pricing & How It Works
This page explains the terms, benefits, and billing structure of a Layer Two membership. It is provided as a reference alongside the membership page — there are no hidden clauses, and nothing here overrides our Terms of Service.
Why $4.99 per month?
Layer Two is a private membership, not a per-product purchase. The $4.99/month rate covers access to the entire Layer Two library — every short-form prompt volume we publish, plus the ability to read and download up to six or seven volumes a day. As the catalogue grows, your access grows with it at no additional cost.
Founding members have locked in this rate at 47.47% below the planned standard price. As long as a founding member's subscription remains active without a gap, their rate will not increase.
What the 7-day free trial means
You can explore the Layer Two membership experience, including eligible book previews and Magical Workspace access, for seven days before the first $4.99 monthly payment is taken.
A valid payment method is required at the start of the trial. This is handled securely by Paddle, our merchant of record. No charge is made during the trial period. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged.
What members receive
A Layer Two membership includes:
- Library access. Every short-form prompt volume published under Layer Two is available to read in-library and download as a secure personal copy. Your account/library page manages your volumes.
- Daily allotment. Six to seven volumes per day can be read or downloaded — enough to maintain steady progress through the catalogue. This allotment refreshes each day.
- 10% preview of every book. The opening module of every eligible Layer Two and Layer Three book can be read inside the library, even if you have not purchased the full volume. This preview is a permanent membership benefit — it does not expire.
- 17% discount on Layer Three single books. While your membership is active, every eligible single book in Layer Three is priced 17% lower than the standard list price. The discount applies automatically at checkout when signed in; no coupon or code is needed.
- VIP milestones. Certain usage or tenure milestones may unlock additional privileges. These are announced within membership as they become available.
How the 10% preview works
The preview covers roughly one module — the opening section — of each eligible book. It is designed to let you evaluate content and writing quality before deciding whether to purchase the full volume. The preview is available inside the member library; you do not need to leave Layer Two to read it.
The preview benefit applies to both Layer Two and Layer Three books, and it is active during the trial period as well as during paid membership.
How the 17% discount works
Eligible single books in Layer Three display a reduced price for signed-in Layer Two members. The discount is applied at checkout automatically when your account is recognised as an active member.
The discount is available for as long as your membership remains active. If your membership ends, the discount is no longer applied to new purchases. Previous purchases are not affected.
Not every volume in Layer Three may be eligible for the discount. Books that are already discounted, part of a bundle, or published under a separate arrangement may be excluded. The eligibility of each book is noted on its product page.
When membership ends
You can cancel at any time from your account page. After cancellation:
- Access continues until the end of the current billing period. If you cancel mid-cycle, you will not lose access immediately — it runs through the paid period's end.
- No refunds for partial periods. As with most subscription services, charges for the current period are not refunded after cancellation.
- Downloaded volumes already in your possession remain yours under the terms of your member license. However, in-library reading access ends when the billing period ends.
- The 17% discount on new purchases ends when membership ends. Discounts already applied to purchases made while you were a member remain valid.
- The 10% preview benefit ends when membership ends. Previously previewed modules in your account may remain accessible in a limited form, but new previews are not available.
If you reactivate later, your membership resumes with a standard checkout. Founding-member pricing is available only to those whose membership has not lapsed.
Billing and account access
- Payment method. A debit or credit card is required to start the trial. Paddle processes all payments and stores your billing information — The Prompt Powerhouse does not see or store your full card details.
- Billing cycle. After the 7-day trial ends, your card is charged $4.99 each monthly billing cycle. You will receive a receipt from Paddle after each charge.
- Account management. Your Layer Two access is linked to your The Prompt Powerhouse account. Sign in to your account page to manage membership, view your library, check your daily allotment, and access your downloaded volumes.
- Tax. Where applicable, sales tax or VAT may be added to the listed price based on your billing location. Paddle determines and collects the correct amount.
Questions?
If something here is unclear, the membership pricing page has the sign-up flow, or you can use the contact information available on the site to reach us. We aim to be straightforward about how the membership works — if it reads like it should work one way, it almost certainly does.
